Camp Dates 2012: June 18 – August 17

Extended week: August 20 – August 24, available for an additional $65.00 per child.

 

What could be better than spending the summer playing with friends and keeping cool splashing around in the pool? For over 28 years, Lower Southampton has been providing summer camps for area residents that offer your child the opportunity to enjoy their summer by engaging with their peers in a secure environment. Lower Southampton Township Summer Day Camps provide programs to keep children of all ages active all summer long! We offer cost effective camps that do not skimp on the fun and entertainment for children aged 3 through 18.

 

Pioneer Camp

For children ages 3-5, we offer such activities as water play (no swimming), crafts, instructional sports, and special visitors. Our secure facility is climate controlled and includes a playground.

  • 8:00am – 5:15pm
  • Camper to counselor ratio (5:1)
  • Children must be potty-trained
  • No field trips

Located at Scottsville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 2400 Brownsville Road, Trevose, PA 19053

 

Discovery Camp (Two Locations)

For children ages 5-12, our 2 locations for Discovery camp have theme weeks, daily swimming, sports, crafts, and instructional activities. This camp is about having fun and making choices about their own camp schedule in a safe, inclusive environment.

  • 8:00am – 5:15pm
  • Camper to counselor ratio (10:1)
  • Discovery Camp Field Trips

2.Friday, July 20 – Movies

3.Friday, July 27 – BounceU of Langhorne

  • Ferderbar Location (Ages 5-12)

1.Children must have attended a prior full day program

  • Dolphin Location (Ages 7-12)

1.Children must have completed first grade

2.Dolphin Swim Club, 260 W Bristol Road, Feasterville, PA 19053

 

Teen Camp

For teens ages 13-18, this camp offers your teen leadership opportunities and an engaging, loosely-structured environment to hang out with their friends, participating in safe, supervised activities, including swimming and awesome field trips.

  • 8:00am – 5:15pm
  • Camper to counselor ratio (10:1)
  • Daily swimming
  • Transportation not provided for all trips

Located at Dolphin Swim Club, 260 W Bristol Road, Feasterville, PA 19053

 

Counselor In Training Program (13+)

For leadership-minded 8th and 9th graders who want to become camp counselors, this will be a team-building, fun, structured summer. Children who successfully complete this program will be honored by the Board of Supervisors at the end of the summer and will be eligible for hire.

  • 9:00am – 4:00pm
  • Only 55 C.I.T.s accepted
  • Daily swimming
  • 2 locations: Dolphin or Ferderbar (assigned)
  • Camp fees apply to C.I.T. program

 

Registration & Payment Information:

Resident registration starts Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Nonresident registration starts Wednesday, February 1, 2012.

*Resident Rate applies ONLY to residents of Lower Southampton Township- this includes all of Feasterville and parts of Oakford, Trevose, and Langhorne – and of Upper Southampton Township. Please note that all residencies will be verified. Anyone found to be using a false address will be excluded from our camps for the 2012 season.

How To Register:

1) Register online at http://www.lss-web.com/. Create a user account and pay using a credit card (sorry, American Express not accepted).

2) Print a registration packet from our website (http://lstwp.org) and bring it to the municipal building, in person.

 

Send registration form with payment to: Lower Southampton Township, Attn: Summer Camp Registration, 1500 Desire Avenue, Feasterville, PA 19053. Balance can be paid in full at the time of registration. If you elect to use the payment plan, you agree to pay the specified amounts on the required dates or forfeit your child’s spot in camp. No refunds will be issued for any reason.

Township Residents (R) Fee: Total $629

Initial Payment: $150

Second Payment, due 2/27: $160

Third Payment, due 3/26: $160

Final Payment, due 4/30: $159

 

Non Resident (NR) Fee: Total $1129

Initial Payment: $250

Second Payment, due 2/27: $293

Third Payment, due 3/26: $293

Final Payment, due 4/30: $293

 

These dates are non-negotiable, and no exceptions will be made. Lower South will issue no reminders; your payments are your responsibility. Exact payments for the specified amounts (no more, no less) are due on these dates. Failure to submit payment on a required date automatically forfeits camp registration. If a registration is begun after these dates, then the amount due by that date must be tendered upon registration. No previously accepted registrations may submit payment after April 30. Credit Card information is not stored for future payments. We cannot take payment information over the phone.

 

Camp Basics

  • 2012 Camp Dates, included in fee: June 18 – August 17
  • Extended Week: August 20 – 24, $65 per child

  • No hidden fees
  • Register early – spaces limited
  • No camp on Wednesday, July 4
  • Daily transportation is NOT available
  • Transportation will be provided to field trips
  • All employees screened in accordance with Township policies
  • Before/after care services are not available
  • This is not a day care program
  • Parent/guardian pick up passes required daily
  • Camp will be cancelled due to extreme weather advisories issued by the National Weather Service
  • All children will be tested for swimming ability
  • Our staff is not trained to administer medications of any kind
  • If a child leaves for an illness or injury, doctor’s clearance must be submitted upon return to camp
  • In the process of becoming American Camp Association certified
  • All program policies are subject to change at the Parks and Recreation Director’s discretion
  • Sportsplex facility will not be used

Lunch Options: Have lunch prepared for your child every day at camp for only $119.00 for the whole camp season. Full payment must be received by May 28th to reserve this special rate. The lunch program will not be offered during extended week.

2012 Summer Camp Lunch Program

 

This year at all of our camp locations we are introducing a new option for a daily lunch program. At $2.64 per day it provides a cheaper and healthier alternative for lunch, saving each family on average $100.00 per season. It is available for $119.00 per camper for the whole season. Full payment for the lunch program must be received by May 28, 2012.

**The lunch program is not available for the extended week from August 20-24 **

 

 

Lunch Program Menu

 

Monday: tuna salad sandwich, apples, vanilla wafers                             

Tuesday: ham & cheese sandwich, baby carrots, cheese-its

Wednesday: turkey and cheese sandwich, grapes, graham cracker

Thursday: chicken salad sandwich, orange, potato chips

Friday: pizza, fruit cup, ice cream

** A substitution for fruit may be available depending on the season**

 

HOW TO REGISTER FOR 2012 LUNCH PROGRAM

On the home page, click on the link that says www.lss-web.com

If you are not already registered, click “new user registration”

Sign up for a new user account

After the account is created, log in with username and password

For state, choose “Pennsylvania” and for recreation provider choose “Lower Southampton Parks and Recreation”

Click “Browse Activities”

For the Search by option select “2- Season and Activity” and select the season as “Summer 2012”

Select “Lunch program”

Click Search

Select the lunch program and click “yes”

Fill out registration form and click “Continue”

Review order and click “Go to payments”

Fill in credit card information and click “continue”

If you do not receive an e-mail receipt for the cost of your registration, it was not accepted, and you will need to repeat the process.
